IGNITE YOUR COURAGE IS BESTSELLER IN SIX COUNTRIES

 


“Ignite Your Courage” is the second bestselling compilation book to which I contribute. The book became number 1 in 6 countries at the beginning of October this year. United States of America, Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Italy are the countries that rewarded the effort of the authors and Ignite Publishing. My story describes my journey as job searcher in Europe and is supported by blog posts and LinkedIn articles with tips and tricks to find a job in several European countries, where I interviewed and received at least a job offer.

I decided to write this blog post to share the writing journey and the promotional strategy that I used as it may be useful for all of you. The other authors “Ignite Your Courage” used different strategies, so I will not provide details about it. Anyway, we supported each other by meeting every week, tagging and inspiring ourselves from each other’s social media messages.

The writing journey started at the beginning of July. It has been more difficult than the one of “Ignite The Entrepreneur” because more years were involved and because Canva tempted me to create patterns for fashion collections and visual content. The first draft was submitted on the 10th of July. It was necessary to go in the countryside to finalize the story, where I had no internet connection and I could focus on writing. I received support from the editors for remembering how the face-to-face interviews went and for writing the text as I speak. Fortunately, the editors and supporters were empathetic and helpful as always. The story was finalized on the 7th of August and it went through additional checks before printing.

Regarding the social media promotion, I knew that I need traffic to my social media profiles to increase the visibility of the promotional messages about the book as otherwise they would not be seen by many people. I ceased posting constantly on the platforms for a few months as I was working full-time in the financial sector, so I needed to post constantly for several months to obtain good results at the end of September.

The results of the social media promotion were obtained organically, no paid ads were used. The content generated the outcome. Promotion started on the 16th of April 2023, when I posted the first photo with Furry Friend, a toy manufactured by IKEA and purchased in 2018. As I was doing the promotion alone, I decided to choose one of my toys as helper. The toy is cute and friendly and I thought that viewers of all age categories would like it. Most of the viewers of my Instagram and Facebook content are from the 24-35 age group and I knew that I need to post things that the followers enjoy. Unlike for “Ignite The Entrepreneur”, I created blog posts and LinkedIn articles too.

My first helper is Furry Friend. Photos with him were posted on a regular basis, at least one photo per week. Besides that, I added photos and videos made in the places which I visited or at events that I attended throughout Europe, usually museums or music festivals. Furry Friend, paintings and sculptures, nature, food, music and dancing were the topics about which I posted the most on social media platforms. I started creating collages with the toy on the 16th of June and continued throughout the summer. The collages and the photos made using my smartphone were slightly edited in Canva and Paint 3D.



GIFs, quotes and eight videos with myself, in which I provide updates about my work, were created to complement the posts with the toy. The videos were made using the phone and / or edited in Video Editor or on TikTok, YouTube or Facebook.

The launch weekend (29th of September – 1st of October) was difficult because there were more markets to support than before: United States of America, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, United Kingdom, The Netherlands, Italy, France, Germany, India, Japan and Spain. Moreover, “Ignite The Entrepreneur” had thirty-seven authors, meanwhile “Ignite Your Courage” only twenty-three authors. Unlike last time, I did as well extensive email marketing and private message sending. I did not know the schedule of the persons that I contacted, so I had to send hundreds of messages to ask for support. Events on LinkedIn and Facebook were created for Igniterama, the book launch from the 1st of October, were family members, friends and collaborators could celebrate with us.




Brainstorming for two weeks before the launch lasted for a whole night and was not followed entirely as more ideas came while doing the work. Posts about the “Ignite Your Courage” book were added starting the 17th of September. The team from Ignite Publishing created outstanding promotional materials and crafted nice messages for social media platforms. I wanted to support all the thirteen markets, but some of them I haven’t visited, so I offered videos that I thought that people from each country would enjoy, about culture, food, travel, football and with the Pink Panther. Pink Panther is a phenomenal helper as the videos are short and the character travels in many countries. Merlin is another amazing helper as he enjoys books. He supported the book launch successfully once again. The last helper was VOGUE. Videos from VOGUE and other sources were posted in real time on LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. Few videos and posts were scheduled in advance. Posting took place continuously since morning until 2-3 a.m.

Meanwhile listening to the presentation of other authors during the book launch I was as well sending messages via WhatsApp. People were really kind and supported us. We were number 1 in the United States of America on Friday, the 29th of September. Bestseller status in Canada, Australia, United Kingdom, The Netherlands and Italy came on the 1st of October.
