HOW TO FIND A JOB IN ROMANIA
Searching for a job is a
difficult task especially if you are at the beginning of your career, without
experience in interviewing or no work on your resume. As a candidate with more
than 50000 submitted applications and job offers from several countries, I
decided to share my experience in a series of blog posts meant to
make the process of finding a job that you love faster.
First of all, I advise you to ask your friends who are hired to recommend you. This increases your chances of being hired.
If recommendation do not work in your case, I advise you to apply online. Romania has three main job portals: eJobs, BestJobs and Hipo.ro Companies and recruitment agencies repost their job offers there. I invite you to create a free account, add your CV and start applying. The job portals can be accessed here: https://www.ejobs.ro/ https://www.bestjobs.eu/ro/locuri-de-munca, http://www.myjob.ro and https://www.hipo.ro/ You can add filters when searching for a job, such as location and sector.

I advise you to send your
CV to the suitable roles on these websites.
Please read my blog post about Linkedin when searching for a job. You can access it here: https://anasmagicworld.blogspot.com/2023/08/increase-your-chances-of-getting-new.html It will be really useful. I will provide more pieces of advise about this platform below.
I advise you to send as many applications as possible both on job portals, recruitment agency websites and LinkedIn, so that you shorten the time needed to find a job. Moreover, you can choose the most suitable offer and / or negotiate your salary and benefits.
Take time to prepare for the interview. A piece of advice for phone interviews is to stand during the call and be in the place where there is no background noise. For online interviews, you can stick papers with notes about the company and role, check the lighting and make sure that no one interrupts you. For in-person interviews, take notes about the company and role beforehand and prepare a list of up to 10 questions which you want to ask during the encounter with the interviewer. Please search the name of the interviewer on LinkedIn, so that you know what role the interviewer has and on what to focus during the interview, technical or soft skills. Make sure that you are dressed properly for the role and that you are on time. Practice in front of the mirror or in your room how you would answer most often asked questions during interviews beforehand.
Once the interview is over, please send a thank you email to the interviewers or recruiters and add additional questions, if necessary.
If you have several offers, choose the one which suits your needs. Please be advised that the best paid offer might not always be the most suitable, as it might involve working long hours.
Check the offer and contract carefully, to make sure that you are receiving what you were promised. Otherwise, please indicate to the recruiter or HR manager where there is a discrepancy and ask for an amendment of the documents. Sign only once this step has been completed.
Help other candidates find a job by recommending them. It might bring you unexpected help when you need it the most and unplanned reward.
